"This is our first effort in developing a game, and we really had to build everything up from scratch, including learning to design games," says Matti Kallonen, CEO of Two Men and a Dog and programmer of Zombie Catchers. "Being just two developers, we've perhaps had the luxury of taking more risks on the subject matter, story and gameplay, and I find it exciting how well Zombie Catchers is resonating with the audience."

"It's really quite astonishing to see such strong positive feedback for the game," says Aleksi Räisänen, the artist behind the game's visual design. "We've had the chance to take bold, original choices with our design direction, and wander outside the popular domains of mid-core strategy and match-three puzzles which you see so many of - we see our project as a departure from App Store trends, and we're happy to see that people are willing to try something that's a bit more out there."

Before creating Zombie Catchers, Aleksi was a Graphic Designer at Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds. Both Matti and Aleksi are alumni of White Sheep, an award winning digital agency based in Helsinki, Finland.

Two Men and a Dog is currently working on more updates and content for Zombie Catchers, to be released in the App Store before the Holiday season. A localized version of the game for the Chinese market is also being worked on.

Zombie Catchers is available to download for free exclusively on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.zombiecatchers.com/download.

Zombie Catchers: Launch Press Release

New Finnish studio Two Men and a Dog releases anticipated debut mobile game Zombie Catchers worldwide exclusively on the App Store

HELSINKI, Finland – Oct. 30, 2014 – Two Men and a Dog, a Finnish mobile game development studio, today announced the worldwide launch of Zombie Catchers, a genre-defying arcade action game, available exclusively on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Zombie Catchers is the first title released by Two Men and a Dog.

In Zombie Catchers, players take control over the adventures of A.J. and Bud, two intergalactic entrepreneurs on a mission to rid the world from a dreadful zombie infestation. Using an arsenal of the gadgets and weapons, the players must hunt for zombies, while building and managing a profitable base of operations. The game is free to play with optional in-app purchases.

"We started Two Men and a Dog with the goal of making games that put fun first," explains Matti Kallonen, cofounder and Chief Executive Officer at Two Men and a Dog. "With Zombie Catchers, we wanted to put our unique touch on the zombie genre and create something thoroughly original with gameplay mechanics that are simply fun."

Founded by former Rovio and White Sheep veterans Matti Kallonen and Aleksi Räisänen, Two Men and a Dog intends to keep building original games with an emphasis on characters, stories, and quirky gameplay. The developers draw inspiration from classic 2D adventure games and cartoons, such as Sam & Max and Futurama. Zombie Catchers game is loaded with character dialogue, but packs more than a twist of modern physics-based action gameplay.

"We love high caliber characters and stories in games, cartoons or drama, but in the arcade and action genre these are often lacking," said Aleksi Räisänen, co-founder and Designer at Two Men and a Dog. "We wanted to combine humor and storytelling with classic platformer action, and give it a modern treatment on the mobile platform – somehow, these things just clicked together."

Zombie Catchers is available to download for free exclusively on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.zombiecatchers.com/download.

More information about the game is available at www.zombiecatchers.com. For all the latest news from Two Men and a Dog, follow the company on Facebook and Twitter.
